KUWAIT CITY, March 8: A member of the Municipal Council Hassan Kamal, has stressed the need for Minister of Municipality Dr. Rana Al-Faris to review and verify the validity and accuracy of the previously approved traffic study for blocks 1, 2 and 3 in the suburb of Sabah Al- Salem, reports Al-Qabas daily. Kamal said, in a press statement, the traffic studies, which are presented in advance before establishing any area and determining its uses and densities, are of high importance, and they must be prepared with a scientific methodology and a correct and accurate prediction factor, so that we do not see negative traffic consequences that currently exist in the area which is expected to get worse in the near future.

He explained the decisions of the Municipal Council are based on the technical studies prepared in advance by the Municipality’s executive body, which looks at any shortcoming or miscalculation in its studies, stressing the importance of comparing previous studies of the area with the actual current densities of these plots, in addition to scrutinizing abuses, such as construction, lack of providing parking spaces and other violations, in addition to the possibility of creating additional entrances and exits. He stressed that the inaccurate urban planning, and the lack of effective supervision of the Municipality, will show its effects later on if it is not rectified and developed in time.
