KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6: The Ministry of the Interior, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lieutenant General Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and Undersecretary Issam Al-Naham, continues to take reform measures and clean up all sectors including the Police Cooperative Society, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily has obtained information that the Police Cooperative Society Board of Directors, headed by Major General Mansour Al-Awadhi, has started reviewing contracts the society concluded with a number of companies.

These contracts include the security system of surveillance cameras valued at KD 100,000 while the actual cost does not exceed KD 5,000. Sources said Al-Awadi will submit a report to the competent authorities in the ministry to investigate the suspected embezzlement of public money, especially since the cooperative’s board of directors has discovered manipulation and misappropriation of public funds in various branches. Sources affirmed these cases were referred to the concerned authorities for investigation
