Coronavirus postpones weddings, leaves malls empty in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 29: The precautionary measures have been taken against infection from coronavirus as instructed by Ministry of Health has been followed by general public in Kuwait.

Scenes of wearing masks on the streets, markets and complexes has become a common sight, many citizens postponed their weddings, and others offered consolation in order to ensure the safety of all. Closed offices and empty commercial complexes were common scene reports Al Qabas

Kuwait’s precautionary measures against coronavirus have won the praise of citizens and representatives of World Health Organization, where representatives described in a press conference that Kuwait’s procedures as “sound and transparent”.

Ministry of Health confirmed that no new cases of the virus were recorded during the past 24 hours, to stop the number of cases recorded at 45 cases.

When Al-Mudhaf was asked at the press conference about the fees for medical cost of expats who was found to be infected with the virus in the country, it was told the treatment is free same as Kuwaiti citizens, even on examination of the virus.

On measures taken against the arrivals to the country from Egypt, Al-Mudhaf said that we abide by the instructions of the World Health Organization, whose representatives later confirmed that there is no need to impose restrictions on those coming from Egypt.

Ministry of Education confirmed that incoming passengers from endemic countries are not allowed to work without a health report proving that they are free of disease.

Citizens and expats returning after holidays on Kuwait Airport

The evacuation of citizens from Iran and Thailand continued yesterday, similarly travelers returned home after the holidays a 196 flights arrived with about 30,000 passengers who received precautionary measures and were subjected to thermal examination devices. Sources said between 25th and 28th February, 879 flights carrying 120,000 passengers came to Kuwait.
