Coronavirus death up to 2007, 74,000 confirmed cases

KUWAIT, Feb 19 (KUNA) — Chinese authorities announced Wednesday that deaths from coronavirus rose to 2,007 and around 74,000 confirmed cases in 31 cities and provinces in China.

At least 132 of the fatalities were from Hubei Province, while one death case recorded in Heilongjiang, Chinese National Health Committee reported.


A new death cases were also registered in Shandong, Guangdong, and Guizhou provinces.


The number of suspected cases reported were 1,185 beside 236 suffered from major setbacks and about 11,977 are in critical condition.
Some of 14,376 patients recovered and discharged from hospitals, they added.


Furthermore, the commission is still following up with 574,418 patients who had physical contact with infected patients.

Confirmed cases rose up to 62 infected case with coronavirus and one death, meanwhile a number of 10 cases were registered in Macau, however registering 22 confirmed cases in Taiwan with one death.


The commission announced earlier that the number of coronavirus survivors exceeded the infected ones.


From his side, Chinese respiratory specialist Zhong Nanshan warned the public to keep their waste pipes unobstructed in order to limit the spread of coronavirus.


“If a waste pipe is blocked, the contaminated air, or the aerosol carrying the novel coronavirus, may cause infection,” Zhong told a press conference.
