KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: Lawyer Yousef Dashti has submitted a petition to the Public Prosecution Department against renowned cleric Othman Al-Khamis, accusing the latter of committing heresy against the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Details of the petition showed Dashti was surfing the YouTube when he saw a video clip of a lecture or seminar by the respondent with a banner at the background containing an inscription that indicated the event was organized by the Da’wah and Guidance Committee affiliated to the Islamic Heritage Revival Society in Ardiya.

Al-Khamis alleged the respondent attributed certain incidents and attitudes to the Prophet (PBUH) in a degrading, defaming and sarcastic manner, stressing those attributes are unbefitting of the position and personality of the Prophet (PBUH) being the last of the prophets who was sent as the leading light to rescue the entire universe from darkness to light.
