Citizen held with drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: Hawally securitymen arrested a citizen in Salmiya for the possession of shabu and drug paraphernalia, say Al-Seyassah. While patrolling the area, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle so they signaled for the driver – a citizen – to pull over for inspection. The officers immediately noticed the disoriented demeanor of the citizen and the smell of liquor emanating from the vehicle. This prompted the officers to search the vehicle thoroughly, resulting in the discovery of the forbidden items.

A case was registered and the citizen was referred to the concerned security department. And, police have arrested an Egyptian for possessing hashish, reports Annahar daily. The daily added, the suspect was arrested in Hawalli for committing a traffic offence. When the man was ordered to pull over, he obeyed but got out of the car and tried to escape on foot. It is also reported he is a violator of residence law. The suspect and the contraband have been handed over to the General Department for Drugs Control.
