Citations for using phone while driving

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: In a recent campaign covering Hawally, Farwaniya and Capital governorates, officers from the General Traffic Department issued 1,464 citations for various traffic violations.

The operation conducted upon directives from the Undersecretary of Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad resulted in the issuance of 1,028 citations against motorists driving without seat belts and 436 citations for using mobile phones while driving.

In a statement, General Traffic Department confirmed the campaign will continue over an indeterminate period throughout the six governorates to restore sanity on the roads, indicating violators will be reprimanded in line with traffic rules and regulations.
