Citations given in Municipality raids on Farwaniya restaurants

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: An inspection tour carried out by Farwaniya Municipality’s Inspection Department on a number of shops, restaurants and food outlets in Farwaniya area resulted in the issuance of nine citations.

The violations for which the citations were issued included noncompliance with regulations, and personal and public hygiene conditions as well as for selling food items prior to obtaining health certificates, and employing employees who do not have health certificates.

Food supervisor Eng. Mohammad Al-Azmi said the campaigns were in line with the keenness of the authority to ensure safety and suitability of the food items for consumption based on directives from the Director of the department Suttam Al-Sahli. Eng. Al-Azmi affirmed that such inspection tours will continue in order to curb violations, adding that the authority will not take the violations related to safety of food products lightly due to their direct connection with the health of consumers.
