KUWAIT CITY, March 21: Chinese players won all three games of the finals of the 12th Kuwait Table Tennis International Professional Championship (Salwa Cup) which were held on Sunday.

A total of 185 male and female players from 35 countries had participated in this championship, which kicked off on March 16 and ended on Sunday, March 20.

During the closing ceremony, the winners in the men’s and women’s singles and doubles categories were crowned by the Advisor at Diwan Amiri Sheikh Fahad Sa’ad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, who represented the sponsor of the championship His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The second seeded player in Chinese local ranking Zuhaying Jik defeated his compatriot Ma Lung, who is first seeded in their local ranking, by winning four rounds against one in the men’s singles category.

Chinese player Li Kisiaso won the women’s singles category after defeating her compatriot Daying Ning with a similar result.

In the men’s doubles category, the duo of Kio Zin and Zuhaying Jik combined efforts to beat Hong Kong players Kwan Kit and Tang Bing by winning three rounds against one. The duo of Chinese players Ding Ming and Leo Shin won the women’s doubles category after defeating their compatriots Li Kisiaso and Zahu Yuling by winning three straight rounds.

Present at the final games of the championship were members of the organizing committee and large number of spectators who filled the Khalid Yousef Al-Marzouq Hall at Salwa Women Sports Club in Qurain to capacity.
