Only 3 members of bereaved family to be allowed to enter morgue

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: Department of Funeral Affairs at Kuwait Municipality issued an order to all cemeteries to inform about addition of burial schedules in a bid to reduce congestion, and to facilitate the process for the bereaved families.

The order was issued based on the instructions issued by the Cabinet to take precautionary and preventive measures for protecting the health safety of the bereaved families and mourners.

According to the order, new burial timings will include 9:00am, after afternoon prayers (Dohr), evening prayers (Asr), after dusk (Maghreb), and night (Isha) prayers, and at any time as per the public interest which will be determined by the officials of the cemeteries in coordination with the bereaved families.

Only three members of the bereaved family will be allowed to enter the morgue. It is prohibited to gather inside the condolences and waiting hall. Handshakes will be enough when giving condolences. The order emphasized the need to use sterilizers and sanitizers, and abide by the instructions issued by Ministry of Health in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Audit and Followup Department of Ahmadi Municipality carried out field inspection of barbershops and hairdressing salons in the governorate to ensure health instructions issued by Ministry of Health are being followed.

The inspection campaign included cafés to ensure they are not serving “shisha”, and that employees of the aforementioned business establishments are using gloves, masks, disinfectants and sterilizers in a bid to contain and prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

In a press statement, the administration manager of the department Saad Al-Shaybah explained that the inspection campaign carried out yesterday in the governorate included the inspection of 420 stores.
It resulted in the issuance of 140 citations against violations such as operating without obtaining health certificates for the employees, and employers failing to adhere to the orders issued by Ministry of Health, as well as operating under expired health license.

About 120 salons and health clubs were warned about the need to adhere to health requirements. Al-Shaybah affirmed that the inspection teams will continue with their campaigns to ensure personal and public health measures to curb the spread of the new coronavirus are being followed.
