KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: The Court of Cassation upheld the verdict of the Court of Appeals, which sentenced a Kuwaiti man to five years in prison with hard labor for joining a terrorist group – Al-Nusrah Front – to fight in Syria.

The Public Prosecution charged the suspect with fighting in Syria alongside the al-Qaeda affiliated group where he learned how to use weapons and ammunition without consent of the government.

His action was considered detrimental to the interest of the country, because it could create enmity between the two states.
