Case filed against ‘Royal’ for dodging entry

MANAMA, Nov 17: The concerned security agencies filed a case against Khalifa Ali Al-Athbi for dodging entry and security procedures a few hours after his arrival at Kuwait International Airport recently.

In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media General Department in the Ministry of Interior revealed Al-Athbi exited through the VIP lounge with the help of a Bedoun security officer in the Defense Ministry with the rank of first sergeant, identified as Huzaa’ Mijbil.

The department said the officer was arrested after he deceived the immigration officer in such a way that the accused managed to escape. The department added the ministry has taken legal action against the security officer for helping a person wanted by law to escape, while disciplinary action was taken against the airport security officers who neglected their duties.

Wanted Syrian held: A Syrian expatriate, who has been on the wanted list for some time over seven cases of fraud and betrayal of trust filed against him, was arrested in Sabahiya area along with a compatriot friend who is also wanted by law for fraud, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when the Criminal Investigations Department received a tipoff on the whereabouts of the suspect, a team was formed for investigations. After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, they arrested the suspect and checked his details to discover seven cases were filed against him and that he owed large sums of money to many parties. They also arrested his compatriot friend after discovering that he is also wanted by law for fraud. The duo was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
