Capital punishment in Filipina’s murder bid; Kuwaiti Boy escapes rape

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: An unidentified Kuwaiti has been sentenced to capital punishment for attempting to kill a Filipina, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting knowledgeable sources. The sources pointed out all judicial rulings are based on the rights of individuals, expatriates and citizens.

Boy escapes rape: Police are looking for a military man for kidnapping and attempting to rape a 12-year old Kuwaiti boy, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, the boy sought the help of emergency police. He told the police he was playing near his home and a man wearing military uniform forced him to get into the car. The boy sensing bad intentions of the man, jumped out of the vehicle when it slowed down. The daily added a Bangladeshi working with the boy’s father after learning about the incident complained to the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry. At the police station the boy said the kidnapper said he wanted to have sex with him.

Marijuana seized: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport have foiled the attempt of an Asian man to smuggle 4.35 kilos of marijuana, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, the marijuana was hidden among two food packets. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the authorities.

Drugs with Canadian: The Ahmadi police have arrested a Canadian for possessing and consuming narcotics, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the drug ‘addict’ was seized in Mahboula by police on routine duty in the area. At the time of arrest, the suspect was under the infl uence of drugs. Police have seized from him 13 narcotic pills and referred him to the General Department of Drugs Control.
