Canadian drug kingpin, citizen caught for growing marijuana

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs at the Ministry of the Interior Major-General Abdul Hamid Al-Awadhi, Director-General of the General Department of Criminal Investigations Major-General Mahmoud Al-Tabbakh and detectives have arrested an unidentified Canadian for planting marijuana inside his home, says a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior. This comes within efforts exerted by the criminal security sector to eliminate crimes of all kinds and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The reports said the security authorities acting on information raided the residence of the Canadian and seized 39 marijuana seedlings, a kilo of the drug ready for sale and seeds for planting. Securitymen also arrested a Kuwaiti in possession of 8 seedlings and halfa- kilo of the drug ready for sale and seeds for planting and fertilizers and an unlicensed gun. During interrogation the Kuwaiti said he got the seedlings from the Canadian and instructions how to plant marijuana.

The suspects and the contraband have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control. According to Al Awadhi the Canadian is known to be one of the most dangerous drug dealers and his arrest can deliver a painful blow to traffickers and users of marijuana in Kuwait.
