Call to support youth in all sports fields

KUWAIT CITY, May 12, (KUNA): Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi chaired on Sunday the 15th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Sports, which included the approval of several decisions concerning Kuwaiti sportsmen. Vice-Chairman of the Council, Asad Taqi, said in a press statement after the meeting that was held at the headquarters of the authority in Al- Raqi region that Minister Al-Mutairi stressed the need to support youth in all competitive and non-competitive sports fields to maximize benefit and advance Kuwaiti sports.

Taqi affirmed Minister Al-Mutairi’s keenness to support young sportsmen by issuing regulations that contribute to raising the level of Kuwaiti athletes and their achievement in translating the directives of the political leadership on the necessity of working to support young people and providing them with all the requirements for distinction and success. He added that the council referred the issue of disbursing the partial professionalism of local club players in the women’s football game to halls to the financial and administrative committee that will emanate from the board of directors to take the necessary measures, noting that the Board of Directors authorized the Minister of State for Youth Affairs to form this committee.

He mentioned that the Board approved the annual plan submitted by the Inspection and Audit Department of the Authority’s Executive Department for the fiscal year 2021-2022, while instructing the Board of Directors to provide an explanation about the observations received from the supervisory authorities and the mechanism for dealing with them in accordance with the correct law. He explained that the Board of Directors approved amendments to the articles of the regulations governing special vacations and sports vacations for players and the technical and administrative bodies of the national teams and the comprehensive and specialized clubs that meet the observations contained in the reports of the supervisory authorities to regulate this law.

The meeting witnessed the attendance of all members of the council, who are in addition to the president and his deputy, each of the Director General of the Authority Hammoud Fleetah, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Faisal Al-Maqsid, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Drug and Food Control Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Badr, and the Director- General of the General Organization for Kuwaiti Housing Welfare, Badr Al- Waqian. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Undersecretary for the Foreign Media Sector in the Ministry of Information, Faisal Al-Mutlagem, and experienced members of the Council, Abdel-Ridha Abbas and Jamal Farhan, in addition to Deputy Director-General of the Authority
