MoE’s Al-Yaqoub meets with undersecretaries, directors

KUWAIT CITY, June 1: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr Ali Al-Yaqoub has requested all assistant undersecretaries of the ministry to address all observations and obstacles raised by the directors of all school districts, each in his own jurisdiction to find appropriate solutions for the issue during the summer vacation to ensure all affiliated educational districts and schools are fully prepared to receive students during the next scholastic year.

Educational sources said Al-Yaqoub requested the directors of all regions during the more than 4-hour meeting to present to the assistant undersecretaries all the shortcomings so that solutions can be found in the best interest of the educational process. The sources said that the directors have expressed their satisfaction with the mechanism that Al-Yaqoub put in place to discuss the needs of the regions and pay attention to all the topics they raised.

In addition, the Ministry of Education approved the “revised” second semester exam schedules for the secondary stage for the scientific and literary departments, religious education and what it called the ‘home students’. The Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education, Osama Al-Sultan, said in a statement yesterday an added 15 minutes will be given for the students to go through the question paper in addition to half an hour for students with “learning difficulties.” – By Abdulrahman Al-Shimmari Al-Seyassah Staff
