KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has received complaints following the decision by the government to raise price of petrol saying it will have a bad effect on people who depend on taxis for their mode of transport, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The complaints said some taxi drivers have already increased the fares in anticipation of the fuel price hike from Sept 2016.

The sources stressed the Ministry of Commerce and Industry must keep in check the price hike by taxi drivers.

The sources stressed coordinating meetings are ongoing and the ministry of Interior must launch campaigns to keep in check the violations committed by taxi drivers including not adhering to the use of meters.
