Brother tries to kill sister in detention

KUWAIT CITY, June 24: A youth tried to kill his sister while in detention at the Moral and Guidance Unit, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the girl who was detained for immoral behavior fell sick while in police custody, and she was referred to a hospital by security escort. At the hospital, a stranger is said to have attacked the detainee in an attempt to kill her, and the security operative later learnt the attacker as the detainee’s brother. He fled the scene immediately but security operatives have since launched a search for his arrest.

Woman found dead: The remains of an unidentified Asian woman who allegedly committed suicide inside her apartment in Mahboula have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Anba daily. Without going into details, the daily said when paramedics rushed to the apartment of the 21-year-old victim they found the corpse on the fl oor of the apartment. Police are investigating the death.
