Broadcasting incorrect information on WhatsApp may imprison you between 3 yrs to 15 yrs

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 10: A legal source warned against sending incorrect information or fake messages about coronavirus over WhatsApp.
These messages are treated legally as crimes committed on Twitter by the tweeters. Where as WhatsApp users mistakenly believe that they are out of legal control especially if a person who received a false news lodges a complaint against them considering that the news was triggered to cause panic.

The prison sentence is of 3 years and up to 15 years for those who publishes false news on WhatsApp, specifically in case of spreading rumors and false news that is against security issue of the country.

The source told al qabas that the law and the investigation authorities do not take an excuse that the message that contained false news arrived from another person, as it is assumed that no news will be published unless it is confirmed that it is correct, because spreading rumors to him is extremely dangerous to society.
