Bogus office raided

KUWAIT CITY, April 18:Officers from General Department for Residency Security Affairs affiliated to Citizenship and Passports Sector raided a bogus domestic labor office and arrested 12 individuals. According to a press release issued by Ministry of Interior, when the General Department for Residency Security Affairs received a complaint from a Kuwaiti citizen that he was cheated by a domestic labor office, a team was formed for following up the complaint.

Investigations revealed that a Bedoun man has been running a bogus domestic labor office and providing shelter to runaway domestic workers in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. After taking necessary legal measures, officers raided the office and arrested 12 domestic workers. All of them were found in violation of the residency law and some were reported as absconding.

The suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior urged Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to cooperate with the security authorities, deal with licensed domestic labor offices in order to ensure the protection of their rights and refrain from providing shelter to violators of residency law.
