KUWAIT CITY, May 26: Despite the Ministry of Health’s warnings and continuous calls to strictly comply with the health regulations; the organization of weddings and other social events started once again after the holy month of Ramadan, especially since Eid Al-Fitr coincided with the decision to lift the partial curfew, reports Al-Qabas daily. In the last few days, the number of wedding events increased even if there are restrictions in light of the current health condition.

Some invitations are bound by health regulations, stating these celebrations are strictly for family members only; and that the announcement is just for notification. Other invitations were extended to close friends, while others distributed invitations similar to how it was done before the corona crisis. Sources from food companies and event organizers revealed that they received requests to set up buffets or arrange celebrations and events – especially weddings – in homes or diwaniyas.

Sources disclosed the number of guests varied as some limited the events for families of the husband and wife only; while others had more guests – up to 150 people. This is a confirmation that the number of events increased after Eid Al-Fitr. It seems people are more comfortable accepting invitations to various events after the increase in the number of vaccinated people and decrease in the number of coronavirus cases compared to the figures before Ramadan. Some organizers asked the guests whether they have been vaccinated or not. Apparently, the return to normal life has started and the current scene refl ects people’s desire to return to their normal lifestyle.
