Bids received for design of new KDIPA building in Sharq

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: Ministry of Public Works received bids from consultancy firms to present designs for the new Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) building in Sharq area, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They revealed that 14 local consulting firms submitted financial offers at the end of last week, and two offers were rejected for falling short of the required specifications.

The sources explained that the new KDIPA building will have special and environmental-friendly specifications to include all future employees of the authority, an office for the minister in charge of the authority, meeting rooms for the board of directors, the director general of the authority, the department heads for the sectors of investment, financial and administrative operations, and the general management sector, in addition to many sectors’ departments. The new building will also contain a car parking section with a capacity of 700 cars.

According to KDIPA’s request, the Ministry of Public Works must have the design made by the winning office to be accurate and valid for a period of five years, starting from the date of issuance of the certificate of receipt for the design work and until the preliminary handover of the executed contract works.

The Ministry of Public Works must set the period for implementing the engineering designs for the building at a total of 540 days – divided into four phases. The first phase is for data collection, which is set at 45 days, the second phase is for general planning and design alternatives, which is set for 90 days, the third phase is related to developing the design, and is set for 120 days, and the fourth and final phase, which will take 285 days, is set for the execution plans and documentation.

In addition, the consultant, in order to complete the consulting services in all its phases, shall provide a technical and professional apparatus of the specialized and qualified professional technical work force necessary to complete the study and design work for the project.
