Bid to smuggle 160 kg hashish foiled

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: The Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday foiling an attempt to smuggle 160 kgs of hashish from Iran into Kuwait.
The Drugs Control General Department was tipped off that a drug trafficker was planning to push a huge amount of cannabis into the country by sea, the ministry’s Security Information Department said in a statement.
A task force was formed and investigations soon affirmed the report. The trafficker, with a Gulf nationality, was arrested having the narcotics, and he confessed to his crime. Leading the security bodies to the residence of two partners, stateless (Bedoun), who were later found out to be registered offenders. The three suspects and the drugs, worth KD 300,000 were referred to the Prosecution, (KUNA)
