Beggars arrested

KUWAIT CITY, July 5: The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality revealed that the emergency team of Ahmadi Municipality launched an inspection campaign on warehouses, markets, and restaurants in Fahaheel Area which resulted in the closure of a warehouse and issuance of 18 citations, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In this regard, the team explained that the violations included storage of goods in unhygienic conditions and non-adherence to hygiene-related regulations as well as operating without municipal licenses and employing employees without health certificates.

Meanwhile, Director General of the Cleanliness and Road Works Department at Kuwait Municipality Dr Saad Al-Jalawi elaborated on the achievements of the department through the campaign titled “Your Health is Trust”.

A total of 8.975 tons of debris and waste including construction and agricultural waste, abandoned furniture, and waste from the yards of 210 mosques and houses of worship were removed.

The department replaced large number of garbage containers and added 270 new ones. It arrested 11 individuals who were caught begging for alms during Eid Al-Fitr holidays.
