Battle against virus rages on

KUWAIT CITY, March 28, (KUNA): Despite stringent preventive measures, more deaths and infections of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic were reported late Thursday by Qatar, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Turkey and the US. In Doha, 12 more people tested positive for the illness in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall infections in Qatar to 549.

The newly identified cases include three Qatari nationals who have recently arrived from European countries, Spokesperson of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management Lolwah Al-Khater said in a press briefing.

Forty-three patients have recovered and all others are in stable condition, she added. In Kurdistan region, north Iraq, the health authorities confirmed a new infection, which took to 104 the overall number in the region.
