Australia qualifies for AFC U20 Championship; India defeats Kuwait 2-1

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: Australia qualified for the Asian Youth Football Cup after defeating Iraq 1-0, while Kuwait lost 2-1 to India. In the Kuwait match against India, Taison Singh Leutongbam (8th minute) and Gurkirat Singh (77th minute) scored India’s two goals, while Saleh Al-Muhattab (73rd minute) scored Kuwait’s goal.

Kuwait lost all the matches in the qualifiers without any points, while India won three points. In the other match, Australia beat Iraq 1-0 at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium, for Australia Chris Donnelly scored in the 59th minute of the match, Australia scored nine points, while Iraq scored six points. Uzbekistan will host the finals of the Asian Youth Cup from March 1 to 18, 2023.
