Asian held with 2 kg marijuana

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled an attempt by an unidentified Asian to smuggle 2 kilos of marijuana into the country, reports Al- Rai daily. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the authorities.

Diplomat accused: A Jordanian has filed a complaint with the Mubarak Al-Kabir Police Station accusing an Asian diplomat of running over his son and submitted a medical report showing injuries, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily gave no more details. Meanwhile, the Farwaniya police are looking for two people driving a stolen SUV, for impersonating police and robbing expatriates, reports Al-Rai daily. When one of the victims gave police the car plate number, securitymen discovered the SUV was reported stolen by its owner.

Foodstuff stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who broke into a warehouse in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and escaped with foodstuffs worth KD 8,000, reports Al-Rai daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Drugs seized: Police have arrested an Egyptian for possessing drugs and violating residence law, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the Egyptian was caught at a police checkpoint in the suburb of Fahd Al- Ahmad because he looked confused. He reportedly tried in vain to escape on foot but was chased and arrested. Police have seized from him hashish and meth. He has been handed over to the General Department for Drugs Control.

Business ruined: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar for breaking into the home of a Kuwaiti woman in Salmiya and stealing her clothes worth KD 4,000, which the woman had purchased to start a business, reports Al- Rai daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
