Asian expats arrested in possession of liquor; Asian liquor peddlers held

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: Two Asian expatriates were arrested in Mahboula area in possession of 36 bottles of locally manufactured alcohol, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling Mahboula area when they suspected a vehicle and ordered it to pull over. They checked the civil ID of the motorist and his passenger to discover they are Asian expatriates. Securitymen checked the vehicle and found 36 bottles of locally manufactured alcohol in the trunk of the vehicle. The two suspects were arrested and referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Liquor peddlers held: Farwaniya security operatives chased two Asian expatriates on foot and arrested them in possession of 230 bottles of alcohol, says Al-Seyassah. The officers were on a round of Jleeb Shuyoukh area when they came across a Japanese-made vehicle and requested the driver to pull up for checking. To their surprise, the man and his companion tried to escape on foot but the officers pursued and arrested them. They went ahead and conducted a search in the suspects’ vehicle and recovered 230 bottles of local-made alcohol ready for sale. They have since been referred with the contraband to concerned authorities.
