Asian dies in farm fire – Bangladeshi suffers burns

KUWAIT CITY, March 1: An Asian expatriate died when fire engulfed his pre-fabricated room inside a farm in Wafra area. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the fire, firefighters, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location to discover two pre-fabricated rooms inside the farm were on fire. They extinguished the fire and found a charred corpse inside one of them. The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department where tests revealed that it belonged to an Asian expatriate who was working in the farm. Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, a Bangladeshi expatriate sustained burns and injuries when fire broke out in an apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. Firefighters rushed to the location and extinguished the fire within a short time, while paramedics referred the victim to Farwaniya Hospital. Securitymen are investigating the cause of the fire. Also, fire engulfed an apartment on the seventh floor of a commercial building in Salmiya area. No injuries were reported. According to a press release issued by Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), when the Control Room of KFSD received information about the flat on fire, firefighters rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics and discovered that the flat on fire was on the seventh floor and there were several people trapped on the eighth floor.
