Around 100 kilos rotten food destroyed – Campaign launched in Jahra

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: Emergency Team at Jahra Municipal Branch embarked on a field inspection of Jahra Industrial Area and issued 18 citations for various violations and destroyed 100kg of rotten foodstuffs, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Team leader Anwar Al- Saleh said the team organized the campaign to ensure public hygiene by checking storages, cooperative societies and street hawkers as part of “We Beautify It with Your Cooperation” campaign, which the Public Relations Department launched recently. He stated the officers seized a lorry used in mounting unlicensed billboards, noting legal measures have since been taken against the violators.

Meanwhile, Director of Hygiene and Road Usage at Hawalli Municipal Branch Dr Sa’ad Al-Jalawi stated the essence of inspection in improving the level of hygiene within the governorate. He said inspectors removed 26 tons of debris, including trees and plants. They also placed stickers on 21 abandoned/ scrap vehicles, issued 6 citations and obtained 3 hygiene undertakings.
