Speaking at an initiation ceremony, Al-Sanea said that he had set a motto of “prompt justice” upon taking the helm of the Ministry of Justice.

The first step is to amend Law 26/2015, which deals with civil and commercial cases in a way that “adapts to technological advances by overcoming any impediments to a more efficient judicial system,” Al-Sanea said. “We as a nation will not prosper until we embrace the latest technological means,” he noted. “This system will spare us time and effort and lead to a smoother judicial process,” Al-Sanea added.

The Minister of Justice also revealed that the Ministry has signed a contract with courier company Express Post, after amending Law 26/2015. The company would be tasked with delivering recorded messages pertinent to judicial cases, to various destinations no later than 72 hours after receiving the messages. Head of the Department of Fatwa and Legislation Salah Al-Masaad said that he is proud that the department was the first to initiate the new electronic system. “This system propels us towards a world of technology and civilization,” Al-Masaad said.
