Amendment to article submitted to stop tenants to be evacuated from apartments

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 27: MP Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Kandari submitted a proposal to amend Article 20, Paragraph 1 of the Real Estate Lease Decree 35/1978 to stop the eviction of tenants by real estate/ landlords in order to protect helpless tenants as it will raise the burden on the courts in the future .

Meanwhile expats continue to suffer job losses due to corona crisis as many business houses have been shut, due to this they are unable to pay rent and the real estate owners have been threatening with legal consequences.
