Amendment to family court law okayed

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 15: The Council of Ministers has reportedly approved proposed amendment to the family court Law No. 12/2015 whereby paragraph No. 3 has been added to Article 17 of the law, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to an official source, the article regulates resources of the family security fund to implement provisions for expenditures. It stipulates that the family security fund can be used to provide loans to divorcees, wives, children or relatives of Kuwaiti citizens until the final judgment is delivered to determine if the expenses are deserving of the loan.

Regarding paragraph No. 2 which has been added to Article 17, the source explained that it serves as an explanatory part for the disbursement of fund from the resources of the family security fund. This aspect stipulates that expenses of divorcees, wives, children or relatives will be approved after delivery of final judgments and decisions by the family court.

The spokesperson and secretary of Burgan Sports Club Fahd Bu Kharma has commended the decision of the temporary committee instituted to manage affairs of the Football Federation allowing Burgan team to participate in its competitions for 2016/2017.

Bu Kharma described the decision as a brave step — subsequent to the dissolved football federation’s decision that rejected the team’s participation in any of its competitions. He congratulated the chairman and members of the committee for earning the trust of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and promised that Burgan team will give the best performance.

He also praised the level of support rendered by the Minister of Information and State Minister for Sports Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud to develop Kuwaiti sport. He also commended the Director of Public Authority for Sports Sheikh Ahmed Al-Mansour and his assistant Dr Humoud Flaitah for their efforts in that regard
