Al-Roumi edge Kuwait Steel – KIB blank Al-Mailem 4-0

KUWAIT CITY, June 21: The 38th edition of the Late Abdullah Meshari Al-Rawdhan Futsal Tournament 2017 today enters its second-last stage with the hosting of two semifinal matches.

In the quarterfinal stage, the late Ahmad Al-Roumi team managed to reserve a place in the semis after defeating Kuwait Steel team through penalty shootouts achieving a score of 5-4.

In the first semifinal match, the late Ahmad Al-Roumi team will face the T-Mass tam, which entered the semis by defeating the Gulf Cables team by 3-2.

Also, the team of Kuwait International Bank defeated the Late Musaed Al-Mailem team by a massive score of 4-0. The BMW team defeated Dar Al-Mohammadia team by 6-2. Therefore, both teams have qualified for the semifinals and will face each other in the second semifinal match.

In preparation for the fourth and last dream match of this year’s tournament, which will be between the Zain All-Stars team led by current Porto F.C. goalkeeper and former Real Madrid goalkeeper from Spain Iker Casillas, and Al-Rawdhan Plus team led by current footballer of Wadi Degla F.C. and Egyptian national football team Essam El-Hadary, the Al-Rawdhan Studio hosted El-Hadary and Egyptian national team player Mahmoud Kahraba.

In their interview, both El-Hadary and Kahraba expressed appreciation and gratitude to the organizing committee of the tournament for inviting them to be part of the tournament. They praised the welcoming ceremony they received and the organization of the tournament, which they described as “beyond wonderful”.

El-Hadary said he is proud of his brotherly relations with many of the sports icons, affirming that his career was inspired by his friend and former goalkeeper Khaled Al-Fadhli and Nawaf Al-Khaldi.

He also expressed his desire for Egyptian national team to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, which is due to be held next year in Russia. He said it does not matter whether he will play as a main player or a substitute but what is important is that he will be part of the team that will carry the Egyptian flag at the one of the greatest competitions in the world.

El-Hadary affirmed that his move from Egypt’s Al-Ahli F.C. to Wadi Degla F.C. opened the opportunity for other aspired goalkeepers to join the ranks of the greatest team in Egypt. However, he indicated that he might move again to Saudi Arabia to play for Al-Taawon, and that negotiations in this regard are at an advanced stage.

Meanwhile, Kahraba affirmed that he respects and honors the Zamalek’s administration and he wishes to continue playing for the team as long as his future in it is secure.

He said he owes a lot to the national team of Egypt and its fans throughout the country, affirming that he, when given the opportunity, will give his best to ensure excellence in the national team’s performance.
