Al-Qadsiya were crowned league champions for the 17th time despite losing 2-0 against Jahra Football Club. The ceremony witnessed the crowning of the top three teams and prizes were distributed by former Head of Kuwait Football Association Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yusuf Al-Sabah.  The top local scorer of the league was Al-Qadsiya’s Bader Al-Mutawa and the professional footballer award went to Syrian Firas Al-Khateeb from Al-Arabi Football Club.

The best goalkeeper was Al-Salmiya Football Club’s goalkeeper Khaled Al-Rashidi, whereas Deputy Manager of Al-Qadsiya Captain Muhammad Al-Buniyan was awarded the best administrator.

Al-Qadsiya guaranteed their top position in the current football season after winning most of the games compared to other teams.  After two rounds of the league, Al-Qadsiya gained 62 points, leaving the second place to Al-Salmiya with 60 points, followed by defending league champions Kuwait Football Club in third place with 56 points, Kazma Football Club in the fourth place, Al-Arabi in the fifth, Khaitan Football Club in the sixth, Fahaheel Football Club in the seventh, Al-Sahael Football Club in the eighth, Jahra in the ninth, Suleibikhat Football Club in 10th, Al-Shabab Football Club in 11th, Yarmouk Football Club in 12th and Al-Nasr Football Club in 13th.

Meanwhile, President of Al-Qadsiya Football Club Sheikh Khaled Al-Fahad revealed that the Board of Directors of the club has completed its agreement with Al-Qadsiya’s current Croatian coach Dalibor Starcevic in order to continue coaching the team in the next season.

In his statement, Sheikh Al-Fahad explained that choosing Starcevic is aimed at maintaining the stability of the club, which was crowned the league champions of the just concluded season of the VIVA Premier League.  He added, “Starcevic will officially sign the contract before leaving for his country within this week.”
