KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: Filipino Action Shooting Team, FAST had grouped up to test their shooting skills. Tamer Al Mutariat secured another professional title and Archie Cajucom showed that he has the ability to capture the title on standard category.  Meanwhile, the veterans Garcia and Isidro were not too far on the second place.

Standard Category

Its been after several months that FAST Secretary Archie Cajucom was missing the weekly FAST Competition. And it seems he didn’t loose his touch, as he topped the standard category. He accurately shot 16 alphas, 3 charlies and a delta at 32.40 seconds. His hit factor (HF) was 2.7778.

For the two consecutive weeks, FAST Vice President Cesar Isidro was too close for first place. Even he was 2 seconds faster than Cajucom at 30.83 seconds, he got an HF of 2.6597 a little short than the first place. He shot 12 alphas, 7 charlies and a delta.

FAST well seasoned shooter Ludivino “Butch” Alinea was swift on his ran. He has the fastest time on the standard category at 26.19 seconds. But he incurred 2 procedural penalties when he shot a target on the same station, without these penalties he should have been the champion of the night. He shot 15 alphas, 4 charlies and a delta with HF of 2.5964.

Salem Al Sheraiam is one of the new FAST shooter and has a very steady hands. He shot 17 alphas, 1 bravo and 2 charlies at 44.56 seconds. His HF was 2.1095.

Hamad Al Kandari on the fifth place with 12 alphas, 4 charlies, 3 deltas and a miss. He took his time to finish the course at 40.91 seconds. His HF was 1.5889. Fawaz Al Anizi was quickly learning on his shooting abilities. He shot 14 alphas, 4 charlies and unfortunately 2 misses. He finished the course at 39.37 seconds with HF of 1.5748.

Erwin Eseo was back at the range after he’s out due to his work commitments. He shot 10 alphas, 2 bravos and 5 charlies, with 3 misses. Had an HF of 0.8588.

FAST guest shooter Murray Arnold was guided by the team on how to shoot safely. He had a keen eyes on the targets as he shot 17 alphas, 1 charlies and 2 misses. His HF was 0.7423.

Majid Al Mulla was a little distracted as he incurred 2 procedural penalties. He finished the course at 29.80 seconds, shot 10 alphas, 6 charlies, 3 deltas and 3 misses. He had HF of 0.6376.

Abdelrahman Abubakar came back to join the funshoot after “awol” for sometime. He has to shake off some rust as he finished the course at 59.88 seconds with 3 misses on the targets. He shot 7 alphas, 7 charlies and 3 deltas with HF of 0.4843.

Nawaf Al Mutar was another guest shooter. He was not able to gain a HF due to his 5 misses.

Professional Category

Tamer Al Mutariat with his dead on accuracy put him into the first place on professional category. He was too good to register a score of HF more than 3. He shot 16 alphas, a bravo, 2 charlies and a delta, with one of the quickest time of 24.98 seconds only. His HF was 3.6029.

FAST President Ronil Garcia seems to recover on his accuracy predicament. He perfectly hit all the target without a miss, 11 alphas, 1 bravo, 7 charlies and a delta. Swift of his feet at 25.08 seconds, the second shooter of the night to register more than 3 HF of 3.1898. Omar Al Ansari on the tough 3. He claimed the fastest shooting time of the night of 24.50 seconds. Shot 9 alphas, 8 charlies and 3 deltas with HF of 2.9388.

It was unusual with Mohammed Al Sadoon not to hit targets. He had 2 misses tonight. He shot 14 alphas, 2 charlies and 2 deltas at 27.66 seconds. His HF was 2.0969.

The Scenario was another creation of FAST El Presidente Ronil Garcia with a lot of help from the members of the club who all came in early to set-up scenario. At the start of the fun shoot, Garcia told all the competitors that safety is the main priority of both the range and the organization. The competition was guided by one of the best range officer Wilber Zingapan.

The course of fire look simple but quite challenging. There were total 9 shooting stations that a shooter has to ran and engage the targets, placed approximately 5 to 9 meters. It means, a shooter has to be quick on their feet and fast to acquire his sight alignment to the targets.

An aggregate scoring method is used to calculate the final score for each competitor with a bullet in Alpha earning 5 points, while in Bravo and Charlie brought 3 points and Delta 1 point. The time taken to complete the course plays a major part in the standing as the total score is divided by the time. The result of it will be called as Hit factor.  Hitting a No Shoot and not following a defined rule with result into a procedural error, will cost the shooter minus 10 points. The shooter can also be disqualified if he violates the gun safety handling rules. He can elect to do another run or more but as a rule, only the first attempt of the competition will be considered final.

Meanwhile, FAST officials had announced that all newcomers and members wishing to participate in the weekly shoots should come to the range ahead of time for a “dry run” over the course. The aim of this dry run is to ensure the newcomers safety as well as that of all those present at the range. Those newcomers who fail to turn up for this dry run will not be allowed to take part in the actual competition.

On the other hand, FAST officials would like to invite everyone on Tuesday evenings to the weekly fun shoot competitions at 1800 hours.
