Al-Khouja stars, Al-Ahly overcome Sedan in Al-Roudhan tourney

KUWAIT CITY, May 22: Representing Libya in the 39th edition of the late Abdullah Mishari Al-Roudhan Football Tournament (Futsal) are Al-Ahly and Al- Itihad clubs which won in their first appearance on the fifth day of the Ramadan tournament.

In the first match, Al-Ahly succeeded in overcoming the stiff challenge posed by its opponent Sedan Regional Company with a last minute goal that came with a header by Fatthi Al-Khouja. Al-Ahly dominated the match as it demonstrated excellent teamwork and understanding among its players, especially between Ibrahim Al-Mujbedi, Adel Al- Shareef and Muhammad Shahout, whereas Sedan Regional Company attempted to maintain the negative draw but the last minute goal broke the deadlock. In the second match, Kuwait Steel and SportX settled for a goal each scored by Muhammad Hanshoush and Abdo Al- Ashoul respectively. The third match witnessed Al-Itihad walking away with a win after it defeated Futsal Boutique by three goals to one.

The goals were scored by Adham Al- Touni, Abdul-Hamid Oheyda and Ali Misbah, whereas the Futsal Boutique’s consolation goal was scored by Abdullah Saad. The second round of the group stages kicks off today with Zone Cent looking for its first win in the tournament when it faces the National Guard which came from a heavy defeat in its first appearance, whereas Jordan’s Hamada Sports Club hopes to compensate its first match draw, although its mission will not be easy at all before KIB which won with five goals in the first round.

The first day of the second round of group stage will conclude with a match between Masami Sushi and the late Musa’ad Al-Meilam as both teams are hoping to secure their places in the advanced stages by winning their second matches to avoid early exit. In the amateur category, Abul team earned a huge win after it defeated Cruzero by six goals to nothing with Ammar Qasim and Ali Wasmi scoring two goals each, and the remaining goals were scored by Salman Muhammad and Muhannad Ahmad. In the second match, the Strikers defeated Al-Shabaab with a goal to zero which was scored by Lijyamfaco, and with the same score, Eng Dhari Al-Murshid’s team defeated the Jordanian community team through Manna’ Amer. Today’s matches will be between Kuwait Talented vs Lignadez Academy, late Hussein Al-Roumi vs Athletics Stars, and Pharoahs will clash against Fahaheel Club.
