Al-Habtoor welcomes the new US envoy to Dubai Paul Malik – Economic issues discussed

DUBAI, UAE, Jan 28: Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group received the new US Consul General to Dubai on Jan 28 at the Al Habtoor Group head office. His Excellency Paul Malik was accompanied by Judith Baker, Political Economic Officer at the US Consulate in Dubai. Also present was Sultan Al Habtoor, President, Al Habtoor Motors and Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice-Chairman and CEO, Al Habtoor Group.

HE Malik took over from former US Consul General to Dubai Rob Waller in September 2015. He was previously Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman, stationed in Muscat.

Chairman Al Habtoor wished the Consul General every success in his new role. They discussed the prosperous economic climate in Dubai. Al Habtoor said, “The UAE is a place full of business opportunities for everyone, regardless of race or religion.

Everyone has the chance to flourish here.” His Excellence Malik said he is “very impressed” by what he has seen in Dubai so far. “It has a dynamic economy and a strong leadership with clear vision.” They also talked about the UAE’s advancements in medical and scientific research, the impact of the lifting of sanctions on Iran, and the upcoming US presidential elections. Al Habtoor presented his guests with a copy of his best-selling autobiography, ‘Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor – The Autobiography.’
