Al-Dawli sponsors 2016 Al-Sidra activities – Program offers psychological care for cancer patients and their relatives

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Kuwait International Bank announced its sponsorship of the activities and initiatives of Al-Sidra Association for Psychological Care of Cancer Patients that offers psychological care for cancer patients and their relatives throughout the stages of the disease, as part of its preeminent CSR program that aims at supporting the civil society organizations and their health, medical and awareness raising services.

The Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia, stated “The sponsorship of Al-Sidra activities is within a series of initiatives adopted by the bank to support the civil society institutions. Whereas the bank’s recent sponsorship of the association’s activities attempts to support its mission of creating a positive environment for patients to cope with the possible side effects and reinforce the success of their treatment through organizing various educational seminars and workshops.”

Najia praised the association’s role in tailoring programs and services like educating patients and providing them with information that helps them understand cancer, its treatment and the mental and physical challenges that the patient might go through. In addition to providing adequate advice about how to cope with the disease, as well as promoting the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the female patients. Also giving them a chance to meet other survivors who have been through similar experiences to learn from one another and communicate with the healthcare professionals for psychological support.

Driven by its humanitarian and national commitment that aims at raising the know-how of the community’s members to cultivate their potential for more progress, Al-Dawli strives to adopt a comprehensive development plan that takes in various social initiatives; such as cultural, educational, sports, health, youth and others.

On the other hand, Sheikhah Azza Jaber Al Ali Al Sabah Chairman of Al-Sidra Association for Psychological Care of Cancer Patients and all the staff of Sidra Centre have expressed their gratitude for KIB participating in accomplishing the Associations goals that focus on enhancing the psychological statues of cancer patients as this may positively reflect on the treatment of the patient.  As a result its ability to provide and have positive reinforcement on the society. Consequently their ability to take and give with the society.
