Accounts of six persons frozen

KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The Central Bank of Kuwait has asked all local banks and branches of foreign banks operating in Kuwait to freeze the accounts of a Kuwaiti citizen, an Iraqi, a Saudi, and 3 Jordanians, after they were suspected of involvement in money laundering activities, reports Al-Rai daily. The sources indicated that the CBK request in this regard came from the Public Prosecution Office, which requested the banks to freeze the accounts of the suspects following a lawsuit filed against them.

The request also includes any other funds or securities deposited or will be deposited in future in these accounts or investment funds in the stock market, as well as any movable properties or shares of whatever nature and form, in addition to all bonds, shares and securities owned by them, and preventing them from disposing of commercial licenses and shares of companies and institutions.

The Prosecution order and also prevents them from disposing of and dealing with all vehicles, bicycles, boats, and jet skis registered in their names, in addition to seizing all real estate registered in their names, while freezing these funds and preventing the accused or their representatives from disposing of and managing them until a verdict in the case has been issued.
