90 illegals, absconders held in Farwaniya police swoop

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Ahmadi securitymen arrested two Asian expatriates in Abu Halifa in possession of 33 bottles of liquor. The officers were on a round of Ahmadi governorate when they spotted a Japanese-made vehicle and ordered the driver and his companion to pull up for checking. It was then they discovered 33 bottles of alcohol.

The suspects admitted peddling in liquor and necessary action was taken against them.

90 illegals held: Compliant with directives from the acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah, personnel from the General Department of Public Security recently embarked on a series of campaigns in Farwaniya Governorate and arrested 90 residence law violators and absconders, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The week-long operations were supervised by the Director General of Farwaniya Security Major General Saleh Al-Enezi and Al-Firdous Security Chief Colonel Abdullah Al-Enezi, as officers set up checkpoints at strategic locations in Ardiya, Sabah Al-Nasser and Al-Firdous areas.

The officers apprehended 11 people who could not provide evidence of their status and 5 people wanted for debts. They also issued 37 traffic citations, apprehended 3 motorists for driving without license, impounded 5 vehicles and registered cases of stunting, betting and hawking, provided humanitarian assistance in 6 instances.
