Kuwaiti bikers dominate ‘LIWA Moto Cross Challenge’ in Abu Dhabi

Competitors from Kuwait’s Basel Salem Al-Sabah Motor Racing Club won fi rst place in the ongoing ‘LIWA Moto Cross Challenge’ which is being held in Abu Dhabi (UAE).

In the (Mx2) category, Mishari Bosheba won fi rst place followed by his team-mate Muhammad Jaa’far, and in the (quads) category, Muhammad Al-Khuleifi won the fi rst position and Muhammad Al-Ali third.

In his statement, the head of Moto Cross at the Basel Salem Al-Sabah Motor Racing Club Muhammad Al-Hattab praised the level of performance demonstrated by the Kuwaiti bikers, who showed a high level of technical ability that qualifi es them to contest with best racers in the world.

In terms of competition, Al-Hattab indicated the race was clean and the spirit of competition prevailed throughout. He said the competition attracted racers from the GCC countries and other foreign countries, although the number of participants in Kuwait decreased due to fi nancial circumstances. He expressed hope that the Moto Cross sports will continue demonstrating strong level of performance to the satisfaction of the spectators.

The LIWA Moto Cross Challenge is a seven-day festival and attracts the region’s most powerful four-wheel drivers and bikers to face exciting challenges including cars drag race, bikes race, Moto Cross track challenge, camel race, horse race, classic cars competition and Moreeb track for freestyle drifting. The highlight feature of the festival is the adventurous race to the top of one of the world’s highest sand hills – the Moreeb Dune, which means ‘Terrifying Mountain’, which is at over 300m high and with a 50 degree angle. The dune will be contested over various categories for different cars and bike types. (KUNA)
