720 new infections; 486 recover from coronavirus

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 5: Kuwait recorded 720 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours while 3 persons died of Covid-19.
The new cases raised tally of registered infections since outbreak of the pandemic to 88,963 and deaths increased to 540, Ministry of Health spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA.

Infections as per health regions, 177 cases in the Hawalli Health District, 169 cases in the Ahmadi Health District, 130 in the Capital Health District, 127 cases in the Farwaniya Health District, and 117 cases in the Al-Jahra Health District.

Al-Sanad said 91 patients were in the intensive care units and there was a total of 8,520 people receiving medical treatment.
He said health care workers conducted 4,414 swab tests in the past 24 hours to increase total tests to 640,634.

Earlier, the ministry said 486 people have recovered from the virus, raising the total number of those to have recovered from infection to 79,903
