7 wanted women, Asian man held by cops

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: Officers from the General Residency Department arrested 7 women with an Asian man for violating residency law. A security source said some of the suspects were wanted for various criminal and others had absconded from their sponsors. They were referred to concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, Hawally securitymen arrested a young Kuwaiti man for consuming alcohol with a bottle of locally brewed liquor, a gun and five bullets in his possession, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to security sources, the arrest happened when the officers noticed the erratic movement of the vehicle driven by the young man while they were patrolling in Bayan. When the officers approached the young man, they found out he was under the influence of alcohol, so they searched the vehicle thoroughly and this led to the discovery of the above mentioned forbidden items.

In another story, the Hawally police have arrested an unidentified Syrian for assaulting an Egyptian over the right of way, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after the Egyptian provided police with the medical report and description of the suspect, his vehicle and the car plate number. And, the Farwaniya police have arrested an unidentified bedoun for attempting to break into a jewelry shop in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh, reports Al-Anba daily. Without going into details, the daily said the suspect has been handed over to the concerned authorities for further interrogations.

Also, Jahra securitymen arrested two Bedoun men and a GCC national for looting camps in Subbiya area. The arrest followed complaints they received from people who fell prey to the activities of the suspects. The suspects were referred with the loot to concerned authorities.
