7 out of 22 Pharmacies reopened

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry stated that it will continue inspection tours of pharmacies, warehouses and markets to ensure availability of requirements to tackle Corona.

Sources said that its inspection teams searched yesterday 61 pharmacies in all governorates and received 250 complaints through the hotline number ( 135 ).

Sources stated that 7 pharmacies were reopened, which were closed during the past two days out of 22 pharmacies and stores, after accepting their violations and pledging to abide by the ministerial decisions, pharmacies that did not accept the violations are still closed.

All the 22 pharmacies were referred to competent authorities to take legal measures against them, noting that the lack of an undertaking by the 15 pharmacies that are still closed to adhere to the law and ministerial decisions which prevents them from re-opening.

Some of the violating pharmacies claimed that the price was raised by the salesmen working for pharmacies and did not provided invoices.

Inspection teams work around the clock to maintain prices and prevent the exploitation due to this exceptional circumstance by some opportunists, stressing that Ministry will not tolerate this and will take legal action against all violators.
