62,000 Kuwaitis and Expats on travel ban

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: Annual statistics issued by the Ministry of Justice show 62,000 Kuwaitis and expatriates carried the travel ban in 2015, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to the statistics the Farwaniya Governorate tops the list with 16,511, followed by Hawalli, Ahmadi, Jahra, the Capital governorates while the Mubarak Al-Kabir is last ranked with 3,229 travel bans.

Jewelry missing: A Kuwaiti woman has informed police that she lost several pieces of jewelry worth KD 2,000 which were inside her handbag, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The woman told police she was attending a wedding party at a ceremony hall in Jahra when she noticed that all the pieces of jewelry were missing. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to arrest the thief.

Indian assaulted: A 35-year-old Indian man filed a complaint against a citizen for allegedly beating him, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The Indian attached a medical report to his complaint, showing the injuries he sustained after the purported beating incident. He also provided police with a detailed description of the suspect who will be summoned soon for questioning in order to verify the complaint.

Fire mishaps reported: Five fire incidents were reported in the last 24 hours in Khairan, Sulaibikhat, Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Jleeb Al-Shuyouk and Qosour, says Al- Seyassah. Fire engulfed a line of trees in Qosour while an unoccupied chalet in Khairan went in flames. Fire also broke out in a house in Sulaibikhat as well as a pile of garbage in Abdullah Al-Mubarak and a coffee shop in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. Different teams of firefighters, securitymen and paramedics rushed to these locations after the Operations Unit at Kuwait Fire Service Directorate received information on the fire outbreaks.
