KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4:Former Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Badr Al-Essa said what was published about 400 fake degrees in the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) is not accurate, reports Al-Anba daily.
He pointed out there are some senior officials who hold fake degrees but not all of them. However, the former minister said it is not the matter of the number of fake degrees, more than 400 or less, the problem is how to solve the problem and how to put a stop to such practices. Al-Essa added the fact finding committee at the university is still working to she light on what he has said.
On the other hand, former Director-General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training Dr Ahmed Al-Athari has denounced the earlier statement of the former minister about the presence of fake PhD degrees.
He pointed out the statement of the former Minister of Education is shameful and ungrounded. He added, the former minister knows very well that the regulators in the State have praised the reforms at the PAAET at all levels. Al-Athari has called on PAAET and the Union of the Teaching Staff to resort to the judiciary to restore the dignity and prestige of the Authority.
