Up to 40 people feared dead in California party fire

WASHINGTON, Dec 3 (KUNA) — As many as 40 people are believed to be dead after a fire broke out during a party at a two-storey warehouse in Oakland, California, on Friday night, police said Saturday.
Nine people are confirmed dead so far, police told reporters, and dozens are missing. About 100 people were in attendance. The police remarks were picked up in Washington DC.
It remains unknown what caused the blaze.
