40 liquor bottles seized – 7 Young men and 3 scantily dressed women held

KUWAIT CITY, March 9: Two Asian expatriates were arrested in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh area in possession of 40 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. According to security sources, Special Forces officers were patrolling Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh area when they stopped a vehicle based on suspicions and checked the civil IDs of the two occupants to discover they are Asian expatriates. Sensing their nervousness, securitymen checked the vehicle to find 40 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. When questioned, they confessed that they were planning to sell the liquor to their clients.

Vehicle goes up in flames: A vehicle went up in flames on the Sixth Ring Road due to a short circuit, and firemen managed to douse the fire without any injury, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Apparently, the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a call about the incident and dispatched a team of firemen with securitymen and paramedics to the location. The firemen extinguished the fire in a record time.

Young men, women held: Ten young Kuwaitis, seven men and three scantily dressed women have been arrested by the police from an apartment in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the arrest came after neighbors complained to the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry about the fight which was happening in one of the building apartments. When police rushed to the spot they found the occupants of the apartment were merrymaking and all of them were under the influence of alcohol. Some of the men were taken to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital to treat them of baton and knife wounds.

 Abusive statements made: An unidentified Arab man has been handed over to the State Security police for making abusive statements against Kuwait in front of people inside a commercial complex in Jahra, reports Al-Anba daily. The suspect was arrested after ‘someone’ called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior. During interrogation he denied the accusation but several people are said to have testified against him.

KD 800 stolen from saloon: An Iranian woman has filed a complaint with the Sabah Al-Salem Police Station accusing a Filipino woman of stealing KD 800 from her beauty parlor, reports Al-Anba daily. The complainant told police the suspect works as manager of her establishment and the theft was discovered by the auditors. Police are looking for the suspect.
