38 hawkers held, power to 70 violating plots disconnected

A joint ministerial committee that was formed for following up the situation in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area carried out a campaign in Hasawi area during which electricity to 70 violating real-estates were disconnected, 21 truckloads of spoiled vegetables and secondhand furniture were confiscated, and 38 hawkers were arrested, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a press release, Director of Farwaniya Municipality Moham-mad Sarkhawa said a new work plan has been prepared to conduct sudden campaigns on a daily basis by the inspection teams with the cooperation of government authorities.

Sarkhawa, who headed the campaign, explained that the campaigns are held periodically at different times. In the recent campaign, the teams confiscated 21 truckloads of goods including eight truckloads of second-hand clothes from Souk Al-Harami, electrical equipment, and spoiled fruits and vegetables.

They issued 38 citations against hawkers, and disconnected electricity to 70 real-estates on Mohammad bin Al-Qasim Street which are in violation of rules of Kuwait Municipality.

The campaign was held with the cooperation of Ministry of Electricity and Water.
